Timor Hau Nian Doben - 21st of May 2013

The Australian television network, ABC, is currently doing a report on famine that occurred in Timor-Leste, in the years of 1978-1979 and URGENTLY needs witnesses who experienced the famine.

According to an Australian expert in matters of Timor-Leste, the famine that occurred at that time in Timor-Leste was the cause of the largest number of deaths relative to total population anywhere in the world since the Second World War.

"Nobody talks about this event that caused the highest number of deaths per capita since the Holocaust. This is an opportunity to change that."

This blog was asked to try to find someone who has suffered the famine in the country and disseminate the following appeal.

If there is anyone who lives in Australia that have experienced the famine, during the years of 1978-1979 and is willing to talk to an Australian journalist from ABC, please contact us URGENTLY. IT MUST BE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE. Please email: timorhauniandoben@timorhauniandoben.com.

Unfortunately, if we cannot find someone within a few weeks, the television program will be canceled, hence, international coverage will not occur.

Thank You!
